Free-To-Play MMORPGs

Massively multi-player online role-playing games (MMORPGs) have always been big. They provide cheap entertainment and escapism from the comfort of your home. Currently, World of Warcraft is in the lead with over 11 million players. Of course, like lots of MMORPGs, World of Warcraft is subscription based. If you want to try out a few free games similar to World of Warcraft without the monthly payment, here are two good ones.

Mabinogi (video game)

Mabinogi. This cute Korean-designed game is a great way to unwind. The controls are click-based so you don’t have to bumble with the keyboard if you don’t want to. The game play is relaxing and there are lots of things to do. You can go on a dungeon raid, plant crops, raise animals, buy a house and lots more – it definitely fits the “virtual life simulation” style of MMORPG. Mabinogi is ran entirely on donation and their store. You can buy useful items for real money and make leveling and traveling easier if you want, but it is not required.

Runes of Magic. Imitating World of Warcraft closely, Runes of Magic has made a place for itself on the internet. It has a store like Mabinogi where you can buy useful in-game items, but you are free to play and never have to pay anything. If you want a World of Warcraft experience without the subscription, RoM is a quick fix. It has very customizable characters, even more than World of Warcraft and has lots of other players to interact with.
